When people think about Factory Vastu, they usually focus on machinery, entrances, or office cabins. But one area that often gets ignored is raw material storage.

In my view, this is a mistake.

Raw materials are the starting point of your entire production process. If they are not stored properly, the factory can become disorganized, material movement can slow down, and production may not flow as smoothly as it should.

Store Heavy Raw Materials in the South-West, South, or West

As a general rule, heavy raw materials should be stored in the South-West, South, or West parts of the factory. These directions are considered strong and stable. They can handle weight well and help create balance within the factory.

Whether you store metal sheets, packaging materials, chemicals, wood, or other production inputs, these zones are usually the most suitable for bulk storage. A factory often feels more stable and organized when its heaviest materials are kept in these directions.

Keep the Storage Area Organized

The direction is important, but so is the condition of the storage area. I’ve seen factories where raw materials are piled randomly, damaged stock is mixed with usable stock, and aisles are blocked with excess inventory.

This creates confusion for workers and slows down daily operations. A clean and organized storage area makes it easier to find materials, reduces waste, and helps production move faster.

Final Thoughts

Raw material storage is not just about finding empty space. It is about placing materials in the right location so that both the factory and the production process remain balanced.

Store heavy raw materials in the South-West, South, or West. Keep the North-East open and clutter-free. Maintain an organized storage system and ensure materials can move easily through the factory.

Small changes in storage planning can often make a factory feel more efficient, more organized, and more in harmony with the principles of Vastu.
